Cathy Monroe

Cathy Monroe enters her ninth season at her alma mater in 2015, having joined former teammate Erin Brown as an assistant coach for the Bulldogs prior to the 2007 season. She was promoted to the team's Associate Head Coach prior to the 2014 season.

Monroe was a member of the Bulldog softball team from 1998-2002, playing in 16 games her first two years and was voted the team’s most improved player following the 1999 season. 

She played in 49 games during her senior season and was a co-captain of the Truman squad that won an MIAA conference title and earned a berth into the NCAA Division II North Central regional tournament. 

Monroe played for Lutheran South High School in St. Louis and was a four-time letterwinner in softball, basketball and track. She was an all-district pick following her junior and senior seasons as her team also won district titles those years. Her junior team finished third in the state tournament. 

After graduation from Truman with a degree in Agricultural Science, Monroe returned to Lutheran South to coach the junior varsity softball team. Monroe has been a student under some of the top softball coaches in Truman history- Kristy Schroeder and Kristi Bredbenner.
