KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The Truman Tennis Court are now open for business after undergoing a major renovation project over the past three months. The Bulldog women will christen the courts this weekend by hosting the Truman Women's Invitational tournament and the town is invited to participate in the annual Town & Gown tournament on Sunday afternoon.
The six courts which are used by the Bulldog Tennis teams, Health & Exercise Science classes, Intramurals and both the Truman and Kirksville communities were completely resurfaced with a new two-coat acrylic system that included a contrasting blue and green color scheme.
In addition to the courts and nets, a new 10 foot high aluminum fence was installed along with concrete pads for the bleacher area.
The total cost of the project was approximately $300,000 with the majority of the funding coming from the Student Athletic Fee.
