Tennis Closes Out Fall Season At Qunicy Invite

QUINCY, Ill. – The Truman Tennis teams concluded their fall season at the Quincy (Ill.) University Fall Invitational. Seven Bulldogs, Griffin Smith, Adam King, Kirk Schlueter, Tanner Morris, Kati Austin, Hanah Runez and Holley Cantalupo, posted perfect records during the tournament.

On the men's side, the middle of the 'Dog lineup was solid with Smith, King and Schlueter not dropping a match in winning flights two, three and four respectively. Morris was 2-0 in singles flight eight and the men overall were 17-6 over the two days.

Austin won the women's flight three by going 3-0 with Runez taking number seven and Cantalupo number eight. Lauren Higgins was 2-1 in flight six.

In doubles, Schuleter and Mike Merchant and Joe Stuhlman and Morris had 3-0 records and Jake Ohlhausen and Smith and King and Patrick Spain went 2-1.

Three women's doubles teams also went 2-1 over the weekend. They were the number one team of Maggie Schutte and Kim Birenbuam, number two tandem of Jenn Gennuso and Kelsey Porter and number three team of Austin and Savannah Everett.
