Track Teams Barnstorm Iowa For Pair Of Meets

DES MOINES – Truman's Jennifer Zweifel was the only Division II performer in the long and triple jumps at the Drake Relays on Saturday. Zweifel finished 13th in the triple jump and 14th in the long jump while the rest of the Bulldog Track & Field teams competed at the nearby Grandview Viking Classic.
 
Zweifel leaped 40-06.25 in the triple jump and 18-02.50 in the long jump as she was competing in her second Drake Relays.
 
In the final regular season meet before conference, five Bulldogs won individual titles at the Grandview Viking Classic on Friday night. Brittany Campbell, Lisa Kucharski, Becca Nelson, Ryan Peterson and Matthew LaPointe along with all three women's relay teams took home firsts.
 
Campbell won the 200 in 26.8 seconds and finished second in the 100 meter dash while Kucharski timed in 62.3 to take first in the 400 meter hurdles. Nelson won the Javelin in 123-5 while the 4x100, 4x400 and 4x800 Bulldog relay teams all claimed wins.
 
Peterson tied for first with a personal best time in the 200 meter dash while LaPointe sailed 13-11.25 to also tie for the win in the pole vault.
 
Michael Dial placed second and Chad Petrofsky third in the 5000 meter run. Dial finished in 15:41.2 while Petrofsky was ten seconds back. David Stodden was the third runner to finish the 1500 meter run in 4:19.62.
 
In throws, Matt Wisniewski was second in the hammer at 159-5 and Derek Atwood was third in the shot at 48-10.00.
 
The teams will prepare for the MIAA Championships next weekend in Emporia, Kan.
