CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. - - The Truman women's swimming team added four new NCAA B-cut standards on night one of the Great Lakes Valley Conference championships Wednesday, holding second place while the Bulldog men sit sixth.

On an abbreviated day one featuring one individual race and two relays, the Bulldog women opened the event with three top-9 finishes in the 1000 individual freestyle. Brynn Guardado notched an NCAA B-cut time of 10:29.51 to finish fifth, while Meghan Senne (10:40.04) and Taylor Voelker (10:40.50) finished eighth and ninth respectively.

Then, in the evening session, the Bulldog women took home second place in both the 200 Medley Relay and the 800 Free Relay for 68 total team points. The four-person unit of Hannah Nicks, Margaux Kent, Beth Eyanson, and Alison Strickler set a season-low time (and B-cut) of 1:44.63 in the 200 Medley, while Casey Jepsen, Evyn Spencer, Kristi Van Oost and Guardado combined to shave nearly 10 full seconds off the previous season-best in the 800 Free with a mark of 7:30.36.

The Bulldogs' time in the 800 Free relay marked what was the second-best time in the event nation-wide prior to this weekend's faction, while Jepsen's first-leg time of 1:50.85 knocked more than 1.3 seconds off her best B-cut time this season to hopefully improve her chances at an individual selection in the event.

The top Truman men's teams took fifth and sixth in those two events, respectively.

Friday morning's preliminary session begins at 10 a.m. Central, with the night two finals set to begin at 6 p.m.
