Nicole Summers is in her second stint as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Truman State University, returning to the athletics department in August 2023. She currently provides athletic training services for women's soccer, men's swimming, and women's swimming.
At Truman State
Summers previously served as Assistant Athletic Trainer at Truman State from December 2005 to May 2010, working with cross country, men's basketball, and track and field programs. After more than a decade working in high school outreach, she returned to the Bulldogs in August 2023.
Between her two stints at Truman State, Summers dedicated 13 years (2010-2023) to high school outreach athletic training services for surrounding communities, working with Northeast Regional Medical Center and as an independent contractor. Prior to her first tenure at Truman, she worked high school outreach for a physical therapy clinic in Kirksville from 2003-2005.
Education & Certification
Summers graduated from Truman State University in May 2003 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science. She passed the Board of Certification exam in June 2003, earning her Athletic Trainer Certification (ATC).
Personal
Summers is married to her husband Jonathan, and they have two daughters, Kaitlyn and Meradith. She resides in the Kirksville area.
